Book a driver who is waiting when you land
A fixed price agreed before you fly, a driver holding your name at arrivals, and no negotiating with a taxi rank at two in the morning in a language you do not speak.
When a transfer beats a taxi

A note on price
A transfer is rarely the cheapest way from an airport, and it is not meant to be. A train or an airport bus will almost always cost less. What you are buying is certainty on the one journey of the trip where you are most tired, least oriented and carrying everything you own.
For a solo traveller on a budget with hand luggage and a direct metro line, take the metro. For a family of four at midnight with four suitcases, the maths changes completely.
