Welcome to the Trip Planner We Wished We Had

Twelve Tabs, One Trip, and Still No Answers

Every trip starts the same way. You have a destination in mind, a few saved pins, and about twelve browser tabs open.

One tab has a guide that was clearly written by someone who never went. Another has a hotel list that is really an ad. A third is a packing list that tells you to bring “comfortable shoes” and nothing else.

None of it is wrong, exactly. But none of it fits together, and by the time you have read it all you still do not know what to book, where to go on day two, or what to put in the suitcase.

That is where Poppy Carla started: with the wish that planning a trip could happen in one place, written to be used rather than skimmed.

Why Planning a Trip Should Feel Easier

Meet Poppy Carla

A good trip is three decisions made well: where you go, where you stay, and what you wear and pack. Most websites help with one of them and leave you to figure out the other two.

We put all three side by side, so a guide to a city sits next to a stay worth booking and an outfit plan that suits the weather and the places you will actually visit.

We also build day-by-day itineraries you can download as a PDF, so your plan is in your pocket and not buried in a tab.

If You’re Standing Where We Stood

We write for travelers who want to plan properly and still enjoy the planning. Whichever of these sounds like you, you will find something here:

  • You are planning your first trip to a new country and do not know where to begin.
  • You have saved a hundred pins and need them turned into an actual plan.
  • You want a stay that feels special without a luxury budget.
  • You pack three outfits too many every time and want to stop.
  • You travel as a couple, with family, or on your own, and want ideas that fit.

What You’ll Find Here

DestinationsCountry guides and 3, 5, 7 and 10 day itineraries, with downloadable PDFs.
StaysHotels and boutique stays worth booking, chosen to help you decide, not to fill space.
Travel OutfitsWhat to wear and pack by climate and trip type, so you are not repacking at the airport.

A Few Things You Should Know About Us

Most About pages say the author is passionate about travel. We would rather show you how we work:

  • We write each guide to be used on the trip, not just read on the sofa.
  • We keep itineraries realistic, with time for meals, queues and getting lost a little.
  • We pair every destination with what to wear there, because the weather decides more than people expect.
  • We keep our colors bright and our advice plain.
  • We believe a trip should be styled and saved: styled so it looks and feels like you, saved so you can come back to it.

One Last Thing

If you have read this far, you are probably someone who reads About pages carefully. We respect that. We do the same thing.

So here is the promise. Planning a trip should be part of the fun, not the hard part. We will keep writing the guides we wish we had found, and we would love to know which ones you want next.

Thank you for being here. We are glad you found us.

Style the Journey. Save the Story.
